This exciting technology was originally developed for high-powered telescopes. The Wavescan produces a visual representation, or map, of how your eye’s own optical system processes light. This map provides a precise and detailed analysis of your eye’s unique visual characteristics. Much like your own fingerprint, no two eyes are exactly alike.

These wave-front measurement devices can identify and imperfections in your eye 25 times more precisely than the standard methods used for eyeglasses and contact lenses.  Your individualized information is then assessed by Dr. Schneider and when you schedule your laser vision correction procedure this information is digitally transferred to our state-of-the-are VISX Star4 excimer laser for the treatment, providing every patient an increased level of precision and accuracy.

Clinical Studies Tell the Story

A large FDA clinical study reported excellent results achievable with custom LASIK. In this particular study, one year after undergoing “custom” LASIK, 100% of the enrolled patients could pass a driving test without glasses or contact lenses. In fact, 98% of custom-treated patients could see 20/20, and a full 70% could see better than 20/20.

And, very importantly, four times as many people were very satisfied with their night vision after “custom” LASIK as compared to their night vision before wearing glasses or contact lenses.
